Problem

A group of entrepreneurs from Balneario Reta (a small and beautiful beach town in eastern Argentina) approached me to help them develop an app to promote their activities, and thus make the influx of tourism throughout the year (not only in summer).

Context

It is a small beach town (less than 1000 inhabitants) that has not yet developed tourism outside the summer season, and where it is difficult to get to know it beyond the typical summer photos or videos, as Google has not even registered it with its Street View.

Results

A lightweight Progressive Web App created from scratch.

Working as a side project during my free time, for about a month I was advancing from the initial idea to the last line code to get it released before the summer of 2019.

From the moment of its creation (now 4 years ago), entrepreneurs had an online tool, easy to access and use, which can share with their potential customers to facilitate their stay in Balneario Reta.

Centralized space to get up-to-date information on the town

Beyond the advance of tools such as Google Maps, the small town didn't have a space to concentrate all the relevant, useful and up-to-date information that potential tourists need.

This allowed everyone (local entrepreneurs & tourists) to have a space where the key information of the small town is integrated, helping the orientation of the tourists themselves, and can even access a state of the weather in real time.

A model to replicate commercially in other small cities

After these entrepreneurs decided to return their focus to their respective undertakings, I have taken control of the business for myself.

The validation that the project has had in this small place gives me the idea of being able to successfully replicate it in other localities of similar characteristics
